Terms and Conditions of Keira’s Canines. Effective from June 2024
Keira’s Canines does not take responsibility for any damage or harm caused or sustained by your dog(s) whilst in the care of Keira’s Canines.
Your dog(s) is fit and healthy and is capable of play and exercise with other dogs unless prior arrangements have been made with Keira’s Canines.
You must make Keira’s Canines aware if your female dog is in heat, and when it has finished. Keira’s Canines reserves the right to refuse the bitch whilst she is in heat, or take her on individual walks on lead.
Your dog(s) is able to be let off the lead on walks, unless prior arrangements have been made with Keira’s Canines.
Keira’s Canines reserves the right to act in the best interests of your pet(s) at all times when in Keira’s Canines care, this includes seeking veterinary advice if your pet becomes ill or injured. Keira’s Canines will contact you immediately if your pet becomes ill. In the instance that you or other contacts provided cannot be contacted within a reasonable time, Keira's Canines reserves the right to seek appropriate veterinary attention and proceed with treatment regardless of costs. Keira’s Canines will do everything that is needed for the pets regarding treatment, comfort and recovery.
Should the worst happen to your pet(s), and euthanasia is absolutely necessary (decided by the vet), if you or other contacts provided to Keira’s Canines cannot be reached, Keira’s Canines will accept and act upon the veterinary advice.
It is strongly advised (but not required) that you provide a second and possibly even third person of contact in case of an emergency and you are unavailable. These people must be trustworthy and you believe that in the worst case scenario they will make the correct decision.
You must make Keira’s Canines aware of any new behaviours or health issues that would be relevant when any of your pets are under the care of Keira’s Canines.
You are aware that some services provided by Keira’s Canines involve group play with multiple dogs. You agree that this play could result in some injuries. Group play is monitored closely but some injuries including scratches, pulled claws and any others, could occur, and Keira’s Canines does not take responsibility for any such injuries.
Your pet(s) is microchipped (legal requirement) and all the information on the microchip is up to date.
Your cat/dog wears a well fitting collar/harness with a tag including their name and the owner's contact information. If your pet(s) do not have a tag with name and contact information then Keira’s Canines reserves the right to not provide any services.
Your pets’ ‘equipment’ must be to a high standard, if for any reason their lead/ harness/ collar or any item breaks due to poor quality, Keira’s Canines will provide one for the rest of the service time, and an additional cost will be added to the invoice. Keira’s Canines does not take responsibility for any damage/ non repairable items.
Your pets(s) must be vaccinated and have proof of vaccination including Kennel Cough. Keira’s Canines does not take responsibility if your dog(s) contracts Kennel Cough even though they are vaccinated there is still a chance of contagion.
If your pets are found to have fleas or any infectious disease/ skin condition (e.g ringworm) Keira’s Canines has the right to refuse any services for at least 21 days. After which Keira’s Canines will inspect your pet and decide whether it is suitable for any of the services.
You give permission for pictures and videos to be taken of your pets and put online via Keira’s Canines social media.
In the event that access to your home (or wherever the pet is staying) cannot be gained for any reason, you will still be charged for the service, unless prior warning/ cancellation has been given within 48 hours notice.
In the event that Keira’s Canines has to cancel/ reschedule any service, for example extreme heat waves/ storms, no charge will be made on your behalf.
Keira’s Canines reserves the right to cut any walks short due to extreme heat or other kinds of weather in the event that anyone (including the animals) could be injured.
Keira’s Canines does not take any responsibility for injuries sustained to any kind of pets whilst in the care of Keira’s Canines.
Any cancellations for pet sitting must be given in writing at least 3 weeks (21 days) prior to the start date. If cancellations are made less than 3 weeks prior, then Keira’s Canines has the right to refuse a full refund.
Keira’s Canines will always try to make sure that your pets come home clean and dry however the weather can prevent this. Any towels/items to dry and clean your dog(s) must be available to use in the event of bad weather and muddy paws. You must also clearly instruct Keira’s Canines where to leave your pet upon drop off when the dogs could be muddy.
You must inform Keira’s Canines of any new or ongoing kinds of medications that any of your pets are receiving, regardless of how long they have been on them for, Keira’s Canines must know.
If you require Keira’s Canines to administer medications then they must be clearly labelled and given clear (written) instructions.
Please note that a signature confirmation to acknowledge agreement of Keira’s Canines Terms and Conditions will be sent inside the “Pet Sign Up” form.
